The use of gas detector in metallurgical industry

- Jun 13, 2024-

Metallurgical industry refers to the mining, selection, sintering of metal ores and smelting, processing into metal materials of the industrial sector. The metallurgical industry can be divided into ferrous metallurgical industry (i.e. steel industry) and non-ferrous metallurgical industry. Non-ferrous metallurgy industry is the production of non-ferrous metal refining industry, such as copper industry, aluminum industry, lead and zinc industry, nickel and cobalt industry, tin industry, precious metal industry, rare metal industry and other sectors. Metallurgical industry is one of the oldest industries in human history, and it is also the pillar industry of China's national economic construction.

Metallurgical industry is an important source of environmental pollution. Metallurgical industry from raw materials, coking, sintering to iron, steel, continuous casting and steel rolling production process will produce a lot of waste gas, resulting in serious environmental pollution. For example, the exhaust gas temperature of the metallurgical kiln is high; In the process of iron and steel smelting, most of the smoke emitted is iron oxide, which has small particle size and strong adsorption force, which increases the difficulty of waste gas treatment. In some processes of blast furnace iron, slag and steelmaking, the emission of flue gas is intermittent and unorganized, which seriously pollenes the atmosphere environment.

In view of the above metallurgical industry pain points, the following solutions are formulated.

Environmental equipment monitoring system: carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen oxide and other gas detectors are widely used in the sintering air room, sintering area, blast furnace air room, coal injection area, rolling area, blast furnace body area, bag area, etc., mainly to monitor fuel combustion status, improve fuel utilization, energy saving and consumption reduction; Monitor exhaust gas status to reduce pollution; At the same time, it also detects gas leaks in industrial places to ensure production safety and prevent occupational diseases.

Data transmission system: there are two types of data transmission, one is wired transmission, and the other is wireless transmission.

1) Wired transmission: The gas controller can output RS485 signals, which are converted into RS232 signals by the converter and transmitted to the computer terminal.

2) Wireless transmission: The gas controller can wirelessly transmit the collected signal to the computer terminal through the Internet network.

Data monitoring system: The data monitoring system mainly consists of data server, video server, large display screen, mobile phone APP and other parts.
