What is zero drift of gas detector?

- Dec 25, 2020-

At present, there are tens of thousands of kinds of gas detector widely used in the joint station, booster point and well area of oil and gas production area. How to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the gas detector is a very important.

The zero of the gas detector should be displayed as 000 in the normal environment, but if there is a drift, the concentration will be shown as greater than 0, which is abnormal and will affect the detection results.

Drift of zeros: This is an electronic term.In an ideal amplifying circuit, when the input signal is zero, the output voltage should remain constant (not necessarily zero). However, in practice, the output voltage does not remain constant due to changes in the ambient temperature. Instead, it changes slowly and randomly, a phenomenon called zero drift (or temperature drift).

Zero calibration: adjust the measuring interface of the instrument to zero or zero value when it is adjusted to the standard state without interference from external factors.Drift occurs and calibration with standard gas is required. If the time is too long for more than two years, it is recommended to replace the sensor.
